Mairead believes that balance is very important – the balance between being physically active and eating well but most importantly enjoying life in the modern day world. Yoga and mindfulness help to bring balance and calm to her life.
Yoga has been an important part of Mairead’s life since university when she started attending weekly classes. She enjoyed the physical element of the class, improving her flexibility and strength, and the sense of relaxation and peace that yoga brings.
She volunteered to join the DCU Yoga Society committee and helped to organise classes and run the club. In 2002, she began her training as a yoga instructor to deepen her own knowledge and learn to share it with others, and has continued her learning and teaching since.
